Naftali Bennett took the lead.
Deprived of a majority in Parliament, the Israeli prime minister, in agreement with the head of diplomacy, Yair Lapid, his ally in the ruling coalition for a year, has decided to dissolve the Knesset.
If the bill is passed in the next few days, Yair Lapid will occupy the post of interim head of government while Naftali Bennett will be appointed minister in charge of Iran.
It is therefore the centrist leader who should in principle receive the American president, Joe Biden, in Jerusalem in mid-July.
