This Tuesday, the Essonne Assize Court in Évry-Courcouronnes is trying four men from the same family from the Kurdish community for killing Mehmet Firat, 22, in May 2013 in Ormoy.
Abdurrahman Y., 57, and his son Ismaïl Y., 28, are on trial for “kidnapping and kidnapping followed by death”.
They are absent from the trial since they fled to Turkey after the events and never reappeared in France.
Only two defendants appear physically: Mehmet Y., 44, and Hakan K., 34, tried for “voluntary abstention from preventing a crime or misdemeanor”, which they dispute.
