Herb wastel Sebastian Viellechner has published a new book.

In "Dr.

Forest and his woodworker" he explains what Dr.

forest gives us – without risks and side effects.

Stürzlham -

In the name he carries the herbs, the herb wastl.

But Sebastian Viellechner from Stürzlham near Weyarn is also a friend of the trees.

"I'm on the wrong track," he says bluntly, and he doesn't sound negative about it.

On the contrary: "In the forest you become a recipient," he says.

And he has written a new book about it: In “Dr.

The forest and his woodworker” tells the herb wastl about his relationship with the forest, about the lessons that nature has taught him, about the powers of the forest and about recipes for bringing these into your home.

The herb wastl had important companions who introduced him to the treasures of nature early on.

"I had a grandmother who introduced me to the values found in the forest early on." And he had a biology teacher who sparked his interest.

Forester - that's what Manyechner would have liked to be back then.

His life took a different path.

But the forest remained his refuge.

And is still a teacher today, in whose lecture hall the certified herbalist always learns something new.

"I'm constantly learning," says Viellechner, who will soon be 80.

"That's part of it, I'm learning until my last breath."

Forest bathing: herb waste believes in effectiveness

The herb wastl is happy to share his knowledge.

In excursions and seminars, for example.

And in his books, which he started because the participants have so many questions.

With "Dr.

Wald und sein Holzknecht" his third guide book has now been published.

The herb wastl is not only a herbal practitioner, but also a nature philosopher.

The new book offers very personal insights into this world.

He tells how his grandmother Krzeszenz brought home the scent of the forest with her spruce doormats, and his relationship with a mighty old white willow that has become his friend over the years with her help and support.

And thus introduces the trusting relationship with “Dr.

Forest".

Of course: the forest does not replace the doctor, the herb wastl emphasizes that, also in his book.

He does not want to replace doctors or even criticize them, but to complement the art of medicine.

With a remedy for something that plagues many these days.

"Every illness is multiplied by stress," says the herbalist.

"Dr.

Forest relieves stress.

Scientific studies agree with me on that.” There is still a lot of catching up to do in this country.

In other countries, the health-promoting power of the forest has long been recognized and even taught - in Japan, for example, where you can take "Forest Medicine" at university.

"The Asians are way ahead of us there." That's also where the "forest bathing" comes from, which has found its way into course programs.

The herb wastl is convinced of the effect - but you don't need a course for it:

"He should sit on a tree trunk and calm down - I don't need any instructions."

Forest" without risks and side effects.

"The best air to breathe" is a gift from the forest

In the book, the herb wastl explains which secondary plant substances he uses to enrich his corona disinfectant spray or how the forest can help mourners.

He presents the "pantry" of the forest with protagonists such as elderberry and barberry, rowan and forest raspberry, milk patty and Judas ear, plus recipe inspiration from forest salad to fish in maple wood to rosehip tonic.

He also added a small herbarium.

Often, however, no prescription is required.

But only the time to linger.

"When the light breaks through the leaves, that is a caress for the soul," says the herb wastl.

"The forest gives what man needs most: the best air to breathe."
