Miesbach – The vehicle meeting of the Miesbach classic car friends was the highlight of 100 years of Hopf wheat beer brewery.

Visitors came from all over Bavaria.

For their third vehicle meeting on Sunday (June 19), the Miesbach classic car friends were expecting a good 400 vehicles.

Well over 600 actually came. Excellently restored, honorably grayed vehicles that are still in everyday use came together and transformed the Waitzinger Wiese and the Habererplatz into a unique open-air museum.

The auction of a Primus PD2 raised 2,400 euros as the highlight of the event.

The proceeds from this benefit the adventure inclusion playground at Nordgraben.

In his greeting, Miesbach's mayor Gerhard Braunmiller - himself the owner of an old BMW GS from 1986 - described the district town as a stronghold for the maintenance of technical cultural assets.

So everything that is old and has wheels could be admired at the event site, from mopeds to racing machines, from family carriages to cool American sleds and cars equipped with racing slicks, as well as trusty, iron workhorses.

The Primus collection by Eugen Pfisterer, who had traveled 330 kilometers from Heilbronn with it, was unique.

Likewise, the DKW presentation in front of a historic petrol station backdrop was always surrounded by Waitzinger friends.

Something similar could be observed in the blue light corner, where many stood in front of it, shaking their heads and admiring what technicians had come up with decades ago to save human lives.

At around 1.30 p.m. the time had come and the Primus PD2 was rolled into the Hopf marquee using muscle power.

As auctioneer Paul Martin put the interested parties in the right mood, the tractor produced in Miesbach in 1954 is a really rare vehicle with a wonderful patina: “You can see that he had to work hard.

But he also shows that with pride.”

After the bidders raised their hands rather hesitantly with a starting price of 1,000 euros, the auction got going.

The gavel finally fell at 2,400 euros.

The proud new owner of the Primus is Fabian Rüppel from Bergham, who even increased his own bid by 100 euros in favor of a good cause.

When asked by Oldtimerfreunde boss Erhard Pohl what he intends to do with the Primus, Rüppel said, much to Pohl's delight: "A Primus is always in good condition and it should keep the patina.

So apart from repairing the engine block and new cables, not much is being done about it.”

Alexandra Braunmiller, who came up with the idea for the adventure inclusion playground at Nordgraben, was also happy.

After all, the proceeds from the auction go 1:1 into this project.
