Police warn: tricksters in the district of Miesbach – calls with “shock stories”

In the districts of Rosenheim, Miesbach and the surrounding area, con artists are currently trying to rob elderly people of their savings with telephone calls.
District –
The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South warns of fraudulent calls in the district of Miesbach.
In a current warning, the officials write: "Scam artists are currently trying to ask older people to hand over their savings and valuables in the districts of Rosenheim, Miesbach and the surrounding area with telephone calls and fictitious shock stories!"

The police advise anyone who is the victim of such a call to proceed as follows:
Never give out information about your belongings, your cash and your valuables on the phone!
Just hang up!
Hang up consciously!
Only then dial the police emergency number 110 or the telephone number of your local police station!
Do not let anyone into the apartment who wants to see where you keep money or valuables!

In addition, the officials appeal to "inform parents, grandparents or other relatives as soon as possible about the danger of possible fraud calls from fake police officers, fake public officials or fake relatives".
