The Iranian foreign minister has canceled a visit to Turkey following fears that Turkey will throw evidence at him for attempts by the Revolutionary Guards to carry out terrorist attacks against Israelis on its soil, the Iranian opposition website Iran International reported this morning (Tuesday).
According to the report, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Hussein 'Abd al-Lahian was due to arrive in Turkey yesterday.
The website revealed that the Turks had prepared documents and evidence that the Revolutionary Guards intended to harm Israelis, and intended to present them to the senior Iranian official.
As stated, as a result, the visit was canceled.
The website also reported that these things caused tensions between the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the head of the Revolutionary Guards intelligence, Hussein Tayeb.
As you may recall, over the weekend it was reported in foreign sources that the senior Iranian was behind the attempts to harm Israelis.
According to the report, the Iranian Foreign Ministry believes that relations with Turkey are very important and Tayeb's moves are hurting this.
As you may recall, yesterday Prime Minister Naftali Bennett revealed in a briefing with political reporters that Turkey and Israel had succeeded in thwarting terrorist squads on Turkish soil, and even arresting terrorists.
Over the weekend, Israeli officials warned of Iranian terrorist cells in Istanbul trying to harm Israelis.
