Regarding the heat wave, “early and intense” but “attenuating”, “the maximum temperatures under shelter remain very high this afternoon in Rhône-Alpes, between 33°C and 37°C.
On the Auvergne side, the drop is more pronounced but we still expect 30°C to 33°C from the east of Allier to Haute-Loire, ”reports Météo France in a new bulletin released this Tuesday at noon.
Towards new violent storms in the Southwest
The storms initially felt in the southwest will continue to affect the country by joining the Massif Central "around 4 p.m.", and they will be accompanied by violent phenomena.
“We are thus expecting very intense electrical activity, locally heavy hailstorms, intense accumulations of precipitation, occasionally reaching 30 to 50 mm, locally more sometimes in less than an hour, violent gusts of wind that can reach values of 80 to 100 km / h and more at peak in places ”, we read in the bulletin of Météo France.
Stormy activity will continue at night, "with a probable reactivation by the southwest", warns the organization, which warns against "locally virulent cells" in certain bordering departments in yellow vigilance.
“Note in the South-West a risk of strong thunderstorms, which will also require monitoring, but the details of which are uncertain for the moment”, also details Météo France.
Monday evening, firefighters carried out nearly 1,500 interventions in Gironde, Dordogne, Charentes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques due to violent storms accompanied by hail and gusts of wind.
Households were affected by power cuts and a few people were injured.
