Bitter survey for the SPD: The Social Democrats are only the third strongest force.

The CDU/CSU is in the lead by a large margin.

Berlin – The SPD slipped below 20 percent in a recent survey.

According to a survey by the opinion research institute Insa, the Social Democrats currently have 19.5 percent.

This makes the SPD only the third strongest party.

Survey: CDU/CSU and Greens before SPD

According to the survey, the Greens are ahead of the SPD with 21 percent approval.

The strongest force is the Union with 28 percent.

In the 2021 federal election, the SPD received the most votes with 25.7 percent, the CDU/CSU together won 24.1.

Behind the Greens follows a larger distance to the other party field.

In the survey commissioned by the

Bild newspaper

, the AfD achieved 10 percentage points, the FDP achieved 9.5.

With 4 percent, the left is further below the five percent hurdle, other parties make up 8 percent.

Coalition question: The signs are black and green

According to current polls, the SPD is left out when it comes to potential coalition formations.

If there were a federal election at the moment, there would be many indications of a black-green alliance.

Such a coalition already exists in Baden-Württemberg under the leadership of the Greens and in Hesse under the leadership of the CDU.

In addition, the CDU and the Greens are currently negotiating black-green in North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein.

In Schleswig-Holstein, both parties want to end their talks on Tuesday.

An agreement is considered likely.

Popularity ranking: Three Green Ministers ahead of Scholz

Insa also asked about the popularity of top German politicians.

At the top are three Green Ministers: Robert Habeck (economy and climate protection), Annalena Baerbock (external) and Cem Özdemir (agriculture).

Behind him is Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was able to move up three places compared to the previous survey.

The survey was conducted shortly after Scholz's trip to Ukraine.
