2022-06-21T07:00:08.013Z

June is the period when the northern Golan is covered with lavender carpets, and it's just the time, just before it gets too hot, to encrypt and enjoy a delicious picnic between the fields and orchards.

The month of June 2022 wore purple and like the unique Provencal landscapes of the season the North Golan was covered with lavender carpets.

Miraculously this happens at the same time with the peak of fruit bearing of the cherry trees.

Not for nothing, this is exactly the opportunity to encrypt and enjoy the beauty of nature and its influence.

I set out to look for the most beautiful places in the north of the Golan Heights for a delicious picnic in the lap of the fields and orchards and closest to Mother Earth.

Field farms

Ruth Sdot Aromatic Plants Farm, Ein Zivon, is a farm that specializes in growing aromatic plants, drying them, and extracting their aromas and essential oils.

When it opens to the quarrel crowd, the farm boasts a landscape we have never known before.

The two dominant lavender varieties bloom with beautiful wildness that evokes intoxicating aromas in the high-altitude air.

Instead a crazy little shop with cute bags like dried lavender wreaths, delicate ceramics, paper products, candles, textiles and more.

You can take a guided tour and get to know the work of the farm and of course it is recommended to book a picnic basket in advance with a collection of great local delicacies.

Ruth Sadeh collected into the basket some of Pelter's flagship cheeses, a fresh pretzel like Maayan Zivan, an almond tart and amerna cherries by Adi Peretz from Materlo, cherries from Genesis and of course a cool rose and blush from the nearby Pelter winery.

In the open space to the view are seating areas in the shade of the oaks and great joy, delicious and so beautiful.

The hummus in the orchard in Genesis

Genesis Orchard offers self-picking of cherries for the most part, of wonderful red raspberries as well as strawberries.

A pleasant walk among the fruit trees and in the paths of the orchard stimulates the appetite and to the picnic tables scattered in the place it is recommended to bring a picnic that is all chickpeas.

Rotem Spitzer from the hummus shop in Ein Zivan will make sure to pack your invested and creative hummus dishes with extreme care.

Will add chopped salad, great seasonings like smoothie, spicy, pickled lemon aioli-all homemade.

And also crispy cauliflower flowers, Syrian falafel, onion and blush salad, green tahini, pickles and more and more.

And for dessert?

Cherries are full of the basket that you can not stop devouring

'Bustan Bereishit' in Ein Zivan - is the largest self-harvesting site in the Golan, which covers an area of over 100 dunams, and offers alongside the harvest a variety of activities for the whole family, including a new attraction - a guided electric bike ride on the Eli Cohen Trail. L. Near the orchard, mini electric ATV tours, ropes park, children's tour on a tractor and cart, live park, exhibition of agricultural tools and art workshops, children's face makeup, along with food and drink stands, natural juices, Druze delicacies, Golan and Galilee fruit stalls. At the visitors' disposal, among the fruit trees, are plenty of shady places, chairs and hammocks in the space of the cherry orchards, and plenty of fresh air from the Golan Heights.
