The month of June 2022 wore purple and like the unique Provencal landscapes of the season the North Golan was covered with lavender carpets.
Miraculously this happens at the same time with the peak of fruit bearing of the cherry trees.
Not for nothing, this is exactly the opportunity to encrypt and enjoy the beauty of nature and its influence.
I set out to look for the most beautiful places in the north of the Golan Heights for a delicious picnic in the lap of the fields and orchards and closest to Mother Earth.
Field farms
Ruth Sdot Aromatic Plants Farm, Ein Zivon, is a farm that specializes in growing aromatic plants, drying them, and extracting their aromas and essential oils.
When it opens to the quarrel crowd, the farm boasts a landscape we have never known before.
The two dominant lavender varieties bloom with beautiful wildness that evokes intoxicating aromas in the high-altitude air.
Instead a crazy little shop with cute bags like dried lavender wreaths, delicate ceramics, paper products, candles, textiles and more.
You can take a guided tour and get to know the work of the farm and of course it is recommended to book a picnic basket in advance with a collection of great local delicacies.
Ruth Sadeh collected into the basket some of Pelter's flagship cheeses, a fresh pretzel like Maayan Zivan, an almond tart and amerna cherries by Adi Peretz from Materlo, cherries from Genesis and of course a cool rose and blush from the nearby Pelter winery.
In the open space to the view are seating areas in the shade of the oaks and great joy, delicious and so beautiful.

Ein Zion Resort Village Farmers Market
A great opportunity to pick up local delicacies and take you for a walk, to the observatory or even to sit in the shade of the mulberry and cherry trees around the kibbutz - is the Ein Ziv Farmers' Market which takes place on Fridays once every two weeks, in the Ein Zivan holiday village square, in a happy atmosphere to music , Food-Tracks, fresh agricultural produce directly from Golan Heights farmers, local delicacies for Friday dinner and more.
