The founder of the Macau Suncity Group, Zhou Zhuohua, was arrested in Macau in November last year. The Macau authorities announced today (21st) that the case of Zhou Zhuohua and the other 20 defendants has been scheduled for trial on September 2. The charges allege that Zhou Zhaohua was suspected of founding and directing Criminal syndicates, money laundering and illegal gambling, etc.
Zhou Zhuohua, nicknamed "Ximihua", is involved in various fields such as gaming, entertainment, and film and television.

On November 26 last year, the Procuratorate of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in the Mainland approved the arrest of Zhou Zhuohua, nicknamed "Ximihua", on suspicion of opening a casino. The Macau Judiciary Police then took action to arrest Zhou Zhuohua and others. After more than 14 hours of interrogation, the Macau Criminal Court judge accepted the prosecution. It is suggested that Zhou Zhuohua should be detained and sent to Coloane Prison.
According to Radio Macau, the case of Zhou Zhuohua and the other 20 defendants has been scheduled for trial on September 2.
Zhou Zhuohua is charged with founding and directing a criminal group, money laundering and illegal gambling, including operating an online Macau casino gaming room, involving illegal wagering of more than HK$800 billion.
