The Society of Jesus condemned in a statement the murder of the two religious, and asked the authorities to recover the bodies that were removed from the place "by armed persons."

In addition, he requested increased protection for religious and lay people who work in the town of Cerocahui and adopt security measures in the Sierra Tarahumara region, which faces conditions of violence and neglect that, according to the Society of Jesus, have not been reversed. .
