Memmingen - The forces of the German Life Saving Society Memmingen/Unterallgäu are going into the upcoming bathing season strengthened.
With the successful completion of the training as a water rescue operations manager, the local DLRG can rely on two more managers.
With Daniela Weimer and Tobias Eßmann, the management team was rejuvenated and placed on an even broader basis.
Weimer and Eßmann, who had been active in the DLRG task force for a long time, were able to acquire the highest management rank after a long period of training.
The training lasted a good four years.
First the qualification as a squad leader and later as a group leader had to be successfully acquired.
On their way to the highest management rank, the new operations managers spent several weekends at the state school of the DLRG Bayern in Neumarkt/Oberpfalz.
In the case of water rescue operations, all the forces deployed are coordinated and managed by the water rescue operations manager.
Only someone who has successfully completed at least one training course that takes into account the specific operating conditions of water rescue can be appointed as head of water rescue operations.
These conditions were easy for both of them.
In addition to the specialist training in water rescue, both also have knowledge in the field of rescue diving and lifeboats.
Tobias Eßmann is also trained as a river rescuer for operations in (fast) flowing water and flood areas.
After their successful training, Weimer and Eßmann have now been officially appointed as head of water rescue operations.
The management of the DLRG Memmingen/Unterallgäu would like to thank both of them for their commitment and their willingness to take on the relevant services.
The appointment is limited to five years and can be extended with appropriate further training.
