Holiday in Austria: You must currently observe these corona rules

You want to go on vacation and Austria is your travel destination?
The Corona rules have just been relaxed: Read here what you still need to consider.
Finally back on vacation, many Germans finally want to get away again in the summer.
This brings the airports in particular to their limits.
If you want to avoid that, then maybe a trip by car is the right choice for you.
In many cases, Austria is at the top of the wish list.
In line with the holiday season, the Corona rules have now been relaxed in Austria.
Holidays in Austria: everything to do with entry
You can safely forget about entry forms, corona tests or vaccination certificates.
Since mid-May, you no longer have to provide proof
when entering Germany's neighboring country
.
Only people from countries with a very high epidemiological risk have to provide proof of 3G (vaccinated, recovered or tested), register and spend a ten-day quarantine.
At present, however, no country with a very high epidemiological risk has been designated from Austria.
The Corona rules in Austria have been lifted to a large extent.
A special regulation applies in Vienna.

Driving in public transport without an FFP2 mask - on holiday in Austria
You can safely leave your FFP2 mask in your suitcase.
In Austria you do not currently need the mask for any leisure activities.
You can
travel on buses and trains, go
to the museum or to the restaurant without a mask.
They also did not need a 3G proof, this also applies to the hotel stay.
As reported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, masks only have to be worn inside hospitals and other care facilities.
This applies to the protection of vulnerable groups.
However, this could
change again at short notice if
the corona numbers increase

Vienna: Regional differences in the corona rules in Austria
However, if you are on vacation in
Vienna
, then you should not pack away the FFP2 mask completely.
In Vienna and other regions of Austria, separate restrictions apply, deviating from the state measure.
In Vienna you need
the FFP2 mask in local public transport and at the respective stops.
This also applies to shopping in pharmacies.

Holidays in Austria: You have to take this into account when you return
On June 1st, the 3G proof requirement for entry into Germany was abolished.
This means that from now on it is no longer necessary to provide 3G proof (vaccinated, recovered or tested) when re-entering Germany.
This does not apply to travelers from virus variant areas.
However, no country is currently designated as a virus variant area.
