After the violent thunderstorms in the south-west of France on Monday, the center and the east of France - in particular Yonne, Nièvre, Saône-et-Loire and Côte-d'Or - were affected by an impressive meteorological episode marked by thunderstorms and hailstorms.

The storms first hit the three departments, before moving up to Côte-d'Or and Dijon.
And the images posted on social networks are impressive.
We see hailstones of several centimeters, as well as damaged equipment.

According to Le Bien Public, the firefighters of Côte-d'Or intervened twenty times, in particular for floods.
In Saône-et-Loire, the photos relayed by Public Good testify to the violence of the stormy episode, with a partially destroyed car.
“Part of the city was devastated,” lamented David Beme, mayor of Digoin, on BFMTV, but no injuries were reported.
24 departments on orange alert to storms
Earlier in the day on Tuesday, thunderstorms had broken out in the Loire, and in particular in Saint-Étienne with hailstorms, while Cher and Bourges were also affected by a violent storm at the end of the day.

Météo France also still places 24 departments on orange alert due to storms, while stormy episodes have followed one another for several days.
Monday evening, firefighters carried out nearly 1,500 interventions in Gironde, Dordogne, Charente, Charente-Maritime and Pyrénées-Atlantiques due to violent storms accompanied by hail and gusts of wind.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, the Paris Basin, the Yonne, the Ardennes or even the Indre had been affected.
