Dhaka-Sana
The Bangladeshi authorities announced today that 36 people have died in the floods that swept the country this week.
The floods caused by heavy monsoon rains have killed 36 people in 27 districts across the country, Xinhua quoted the Bangladesh Disaster Response Agency as saying, noting that most of the victims died as a result of drowning or being bitten by poisonous snakes in the affected areas.
The floods displaced tens of thousands of families who were forced to flee their homes as the rain continued.
