An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the port of Maqam in Hormozgan province, southern Iran, at dawn today, Wednesday.
"The earthquake occurred at dawn, at a depth of 10 km, and its epicenter was at the confluence of latitude 27.04 north and longitude 53.26 east in the area of the Maqam port of the Sheb Koh district in the Lengeh port district of the province," IRNA news agency quoted the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institution of Tehran University as saying. Hormozgan, southern Iran, there were no reports of damage from the earthquake.
An earthquake struck Golestan province, northeastern Iran, on the twentieth of this month, with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale.
