Oberbrunn – A 54-year-old woman from Germering recently stopped on June 15 on a dirt road near State Road 2069 from Gilching to Starnberg near Oberbrunn-West to walk her dog there for half an hour.

When she returned from her walk, she experienced a nasty surprise at her Kia Sportage.

Her passenger window had been smashed during her half-hour absence, and the broken pieces were scattered across both the passenger and driver's seats of her vehicle.

Although the Kia was clearly visible from the state road, which was heavily frequented at the time, this did not prevent or deter the perpetrator from breaking into the Germeringer dog owner's car.

In addition to the deflated passenger door, the woman was particularly annoyed by the fact that her black backpack with her wallet, including her EC card and that of her husband and her ID card, which was located in the footwell on the passenger side, was apparently the object of desire.

Although the woman had already blocked the two EC cards from the scene of the crime immediately after leaving the car, she found out last Friday (June 17) that 2,500 euros had been withdrawn from her account.

An immediate query at her bank led to the result that a previously unknown perpetrator had received the said sum in cash at the counter of a Munich branch of her bank on presentation of the stolen identity card of the 54-year-old victim and her account details.

At least there is a video recording of the perpetrator, who appeared extremely bold and brazen at the counter of the Munich branch and wore an FFP2 mask during the act.
