Baby body found in basement

Police found the body of a newborn baby in the basement of a house in Lüdenscheid.
It is being investigated on suspicion of a homicide, a homicide commission has been formed, said a police spokeswoman on Wednesday.
The cause of death should be clarified: It is still unclear whether the baby was born dead or died after birth.
Lüdenscheid - The "Soester Anzeiger" had previously reported on it.
The mother is known to the police.
The spokeswoman did not initially give any further details.
The body was found on Tuesday evening.
It was hidden in the basement.
