The Long Ping Zhongdian Cable Bridge in Yuen Long caught fire and collapsed last night (21st), resulting in a power outage in Tuen Yuen.
160,000 households were affected in the incident, of which 140,000 households have been restored to power supply, but Tianqing Village, Tianyue Village, Tianze Village and Tianfuyuan have not fully restored power supply.
This morning, a large number of maintenance workers came to the scene with materials for emergency repairs.
At about 10 a.m., staff from the CLP, EMSD and the Environment Bureau inspected the site and learned about the maintenance progress. It is expected that a press conference will be held at the site later to explain the latest details.
CLP said that Tin Shui Wai has fully restored power. Since the power supply is still unstable after the emergency repair, the unstable situation may last for several days. It is hoped that users will save electricity and reduce load.
The Environment Bureau has instructed CLP to submit the report within 3 days.
