Buttock pain is the most common complaint among cyclists.
The main cause of this is the bicycle saddle.
An exchange can make sense.

This changes nothing for you.
After the first bike ride in spring you are floored - and often your butt feels the same way.
After all, the majority of the body weight lies on the contact point between the buttocks and the saddle when cycling.
The good news: the bottom usually gets used to the initially unfamiliar strain.
The press service bicycle (pd-f) points this out.
Butt pain is often a phenomenon that resolves itself.
But not always: If the pain persists, you should think about replacing
the saddle
.
"It's a gamble that the saddle fitted from the outset fits," said sports scientist Kim Tofaute to the pd-f.
A new saddle can also be advisable if you get off the bike with pain in the genital area.
In this case, Tofaute recommends a saddle with relief zones and cut-outs.
Bicycle saddle: the most important features
Shape
: Narrow, thick or balanced - personal preference is crucial.
Those who like to ride more comfortably will prefer a wider saddle.
Narrower bicycle saddles are probably better for road bikes.
The rule of thumb is: the more upright you sit on the bike, the wider the saddle should be.
Material
: The primary cause of buttock pain after riding a bike is a saddle that is too hard.
We therefore recommend specimens that are filled with foam or special gel material.
In the following we present some recommended bicycle saddles.

Clothing also plays a role
It is often the
seams of clothing
that exert uncomfortable pressure and lead to pain.
The jeans are therefore less suitable for the bike tour.
“Cycling shorts are recommended, or sports underwear without seams.
Then nothing presses,” says Tofaute.
If you then get out of the saddle every now and then and relieve your buttocks, you do a lot to ensure that nothing pinches or hurts after the bike tour.
