Russia's permanent representative to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, considered that the chances of Sweden and Finland being accepted into NATO are very slim.
The Russia Today website quoted Chizhov as saying: This conclusion has been explicitly confirmed.
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö announced earlier that it is unlikely that Finland will be able to join NATO until next September due to differences that emerged during a meeting held at NATO headquarters.
