The command of the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic announced today that the Ukrainian forces have fired more than 30 shells on the territory of the republic during the past 24 hours.
The Russia Today website quoted the leadership as saying that the Ukrainian forces fired 24 120 mm mortar shells and seven 152 mm artillery shells on the territory of Donetsk, noting that the shelling included the Kievsky and Petrovsky regions, as well as the towns of Golmovsky and Zaitsevo.
It is noteworthy that during the past months, the authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics periodically announced heavy artillery and missile shelling by the Ukrainian army and ultra-nationalist factions, during which mainly residential neighborhoods and civilian facilities, especially vital infrastructure facilities, were targeted.
