With the aim of protecting humans from exposure to chemicals that have a dangerous effect on health and are used in agriculture, Engineer Youssef Hamdan succeeded in designing an agricultural robot for use in spraying pesticides and fertilizers in greenhouses and agricultural lands.
Hamdan explained to SANA reporter that he carried out his pioneering project to design an agricultural robot to protect humans from exposure to chemicals that cause diseases and cancers, save time and effort, reduce costs, reduce waste of high-cost materials used in specialized crops, and implement the process of spraying pesticides in an accurate and highly effective manner.
According to Hamdan, the robot is a vehicle that is remotely controlled by a wireless controller equipped with a processor, a rechargeable battery and a tank to absorb chemicals. The robot sprays materials on both sides at the same time and at a constant spray rate throughout the entire process.
As for the difficulties that the project faced, he added that it suffered from the lack of availability of some electronic devices and elements in the local markets, indicating that after the success of the experiment, work will be done to develop the robot to carry out the work itself without the need to direct it using the control device and present it in several sizes that vary in capacity and capacity to match the area of agricultural land and the need plantings.
For his part, Eng. Fayez Estfan, a member of the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, confirmed that the union empowers students and provides them with knowledge and skills to enter the labor market, whether as employees or project owners, through a series of courses that focus on entrepreneurship and how to create and manage projects financially, pointing to the importance of transferring students from Government job seekers to employment operators, generating job opportunities for the community, and linking them with financing institutions and flexible offices to complete their projects easily and easily.
It is noteworthy that the agricultural robot project was among the pioneering youth projects hosted by the first pioneering investment forum (Opportunity 2022) organized by the National Union of Syrian Students and the Young Entrepreneurs Association (SIA).
