The project:

Renovation of an apartment for a young family in Petah Tikva

Space:

140 sq.m.

Tenants:

couple + 2

Interior design:

Hila Alter

When interior designer Hila Alter first entered an apartment in Petah Tikva, which covers 140 sq.m., where a couple and two small children live (4 5), an uninvested apartment was discovered in front of it that did not suit the needs of the family, and demanded a very thorough renovation, including its conversion from a six-room apartment to a five-room apartment.

The massive renovation included redesigning the spaces, interior design and dressing the house - renovating the bathrooms, replacing the kitchen, lowering the ceiling to plaster recessed lighting, breaking the sixth room to enlarge the living room and designing custom carpentry items.

The owners - Mazi and Alon, decided to make a comprehensive renovation in their apartment in Petah Tikva in a modern, warm and inviting style. Alon is an avid music lover, who in his house made sure to install very advanced audio systems, their.

One of the goals of the renovation was to address this aesthetic hazard as well - for this purpose, a huge power wall was designed in the living space with dedicated space for oak systems, storage spaces, a zero-line door to hide a guest unit, a door to cover electrical and communication cabinets, and a mirrored entry console.

All this in one carpentry item that has been carefully planned and executed in precise master carpentry.

The redesigned kitchen has been added a spacious island that will serve as a work surface and dining area, and an impressive ceiling with aesthetic elements and wooden beams.

For the purpose of separating the dining area from the general bathroom, a decorative metal library was designed that combined black and brass and completed the desired modern look.

In addition, cladding adorned the walls, and a custom planter upgraded the entrance wall.

The bathrooms have also been extensively renovated with cabinets in personal carpentry (Photo: Maor Moyal)

The bathrooms have been fully renovated with bathroom cabinets and custom carpentry service.

The favorite colors of the household (green and turquoise) were expressed in the dressing of the living space, the children's rooms and the parents' bedroom.

But the biggest challenge in the process came from an unexpected place - Alon, the landlord, an avid music lover, has an expensive hobby that he defines as soul love, and includes audio systems for tens of thousands of shekels - sound systems for bars, speakers and turntables, which include dozens of tangled wires.

Mazi, his partner, is very supportive of his hobby but decided to take advantage of the renovation to put an end to this chaos.

What’s more, she defined the “musical challenge” as the most important task in the renovation process.

It all started with this aesthetic hazard of wires and cables.

That way much better.

In professional sound systems there is a need for a rear access to switch between the sockets and wires as well as to provide adequate ventilation so that they cannot be stored inside a cabinet, and here lay the big challenge.

To overcome this, the designer designed a huge TV wall that starts from the entrance to the house, hides the entrance to the guest unit as well as the audio systems that are in the TV wall, but still leaves aesthetic access to them behind, so all sound systems are mounted on a removable black storage unit. ) Placed under the TV, and allows rear access to it from the corridor.

The black cabinet below the TV screen hides the electrical and communication cabinet, and to it have been added cabinets that fill the wall up to the entrance to the house, which open to store bags and coats, and an entrance console with an impressive look.

The zero-line door that separates the living room from the living unit inside, allows access to the rear of the audio units, and is also an impressive and aesthetic item thanks to the grooved facades and the special combination of wood and white.

Homeowners' favorite shades of green and turquoise have been subtly incorporated into all the spaces.

In the parents' bedroom, it was decided to give up a small, closed closet, in favor of an open closet corner that creates a large and impressive space, with all the closets and carpentry items designed and custom designed.

The children's rooms are carefully designed, according to the needs and preferences of each child.

The biggest change between "before" and "after" was noticeable in the general bathroom, where it was decided to break down the service balcony that was used to store the washing machine and dryer, and move them to a carpentry cabinet designed in front of the toilet, to significantly increase the bathroom.

Crazy change.

It's hard to believe it's the same space.

The design of the apartment is characterized by a modern style and monochromatic colors, in a color palette of white, black and gray, with touches of bottle green and turquoise at the customer's request - in furniture, chairs, walls and other spaces.

In addition, there are elements in gold touches that are repeated in several areas, especially in the central space, which is decorated with unique metal items, accessories and impressive lighting fixtures.

The custom carpentry, too, was designed in straight and clean lines.

The modern and clean line is also reflected in the bathrooms, at the level of choice of materials and colors, around white, black and gray colors with touches of green and turquoise in several shades and styles, as a recurring motif in all spaces of the house.

And the result - a spectacular and upgraded apartment on the aesthetic and functional level, which bears no resemblance to what it was before.

You will be impressed by the inconceivable difference between "before" and "after".
