Both ministers tend to refuse • The chairman of Torah Judaism continues to put pressure on coalition members to prevent elections • Gafni in closed-door talks: "Efforts should be concentrated on Ganz, and others on new hope"

Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni, who is holding talks with the coalition in an attempt to prevent elections, suggested that Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Justice Minister Gideon Saar support a direct election for prime minister, Israel Today has learned.

Netanyahu wants to avoid elections for fear that there will be no 61 seats for the right-wing bloc.

Since Bennett and Lapid announced the dissolution of the Knesset, Gafni has spoken several times with Ministers Ganz and Saar in an attempt to persuade them to form an alternative government in the current Knesset, but they refuse.

Gafni said in closed-door talks on the formation of an alternative government in the current Knesset: "The Saar option has been dropped from the chapter, an effort should be concentrated on Ganz, and others with new hope, such as Sharan Hashakel and Elkin."

"Israel Today" also revealed that, among other things, Ganz was offered by the Likud to serve as transitional prime minister and prime minister after a year, but Ganz rejected this.

Attempts to court a new hope did not bear fruit either, when, among other things, Gideon Saar was offered to serve as defense minister.

The office of Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni declined to comment.
