Forty years after Operation Peace of the Galilee - The Minister of Defense threatens Hezbollah and Iran in a ceremony to mark the war and extends a hand of peace to the citizens of Lebanon.
A salute and tribute to mark the war in Lebanon was held tonight (Wednesday) in Kiryat Shmona in the presence of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and the Chief of Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi. "If we are required to carry out the operation, it will be powerful and accurate. It will take a heavy toll on Iranian and Hezbollah envoys, and on the Lebanese state. No infrastructure used to harm us will be immune."

"We are aware that our home front will also absorb," he said.
"That is why we are preparing it - in protection, and in strengthening the connection between the army and the heads of the authorities and the residents. We are ready for battle, and if necessary, we will march again to Beirut, Sidon and Tzur."
Alongside these things, the Minister stressed that Israel always faces peace: "We do not want war and we are ready to go very far in the path of peace, and in the paths of settlement such as the maritime border between us and Lebanon, which we must conclude soon. "It is also a significant step to strengthen stability in the region. Our conflict is not with the citizens of Lebanon, to whom we have reached out many times. There are paths to follow, we need the other side to have the courage to start walking."
In addition to Ganz, the Deputy Minister of Defense, Alon Schuster, the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Eshel, bereaved families and other guests also took part in the event.
