Spain's Ministry of Health has published a new Corona protocol.

Testing and quarantine are therefore no longer necessary for infected people.

But what should you do now if you have been infected with Corona in Spain?

Madrid – Spain has abolished the general obligation to test and quarantine, even people infected with the corona virus have not had to isolate themselves or undergo a test since March 28, with a few exceptions.

The country has thus switched to treating Covid-19 in a similar way to influenza.

But what should you do now if you have been infected with Corona in Spain?

Corona in Spain: This is to do with mild symptoms

The Spanish Ministry of Health has published a guide for the population on how to proceed in the event of a corona infection.

Anyone who has mild symptoms usually does not have to go into quarantine or inform their doctor.

This also applies to close contacts, such as family members.

Exceptions apply to employees in the healthcare sector or in senior citizens' facilities, pregnant women and people over the age of 60.

For all other corona infected people, even without the obligation to quarantine, there is an urgent recommendation to wear a protective mask for ten days after the first symptoms or the positive test, to avoid contact with risk groups, not to attend mass events and to keep social life to a minimum reduce, reports costanachrichten.com.

With the following symptoms, the Ministry of Health classifies the course of a Covid disease as “mild”: cough, sore throat, runny nose with and without fever.

The authorities in Spain expect a potentially severe course if the person concerned suffers from shortness of breath or has a fever of more than 38 degrees for at least three days in a row.

If you have these symptoms, according to the new Corona protocol, you should call a doctor.

In the case of severe courses, a PCR test is usually ordered in Spain.

People over the age of 60, patients with immunodeficiency, pregnant women and healthcare workers may also continue to be tested if they suspect they may have Covid disease.

Corona in Spain: rules at work and for vacationers

With the new Corona protocol in Spain, sick leave is also eliminated.

Employees can therefore also drive to work with a mild or symptom-free Covid 19 disease.

However, the Ministry of Health recommends staying in the home office if possible.

Anyone who works in healthcare, in a senior citizens' facility, a day care center, prison or similar must stay at home for at least five days from the first symptoms or from the positive corona test.

If the infected person is fever-free after five days and the symptoms have improved, an antigen test is due.

If the result is negative, the person concerned can go back to work; if the test is positive, it is repeated after 24 hours.

Attention, holidaymakers: In principle, the exemption from the quarantine and test obligation also applies to tourists who are staying in Spain.

But there could be a problem on the return flight.

Because travelers usually have to assure the responsible airline at check-in that they have not had contact with a person infected with corona in the last 14 days before departure, nor have they observed typical symptoms such as coughing or fever in themselves, nor have they tested positive for corona became.
