Today, Iraqi forces launched a security operation in a number of villages in Diyala Governorate, in the east of the country.
A statement by the Security Media Cell, carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that the Diyala Operations Command, through the 1st Infantry Division, began implementing a security operation in the 1st Division sector to search the villages of Mahmoud Al-Ali, Idris, Sheikh Qadir, Mukhtar and Beit Latif in Diyala.
The statement indicated that the operation resulted in the arrest of wanted terrorists, the destruction of their hideouts, and the strengthening of security and stability in Al-Qata'.
Yesterday, Iraqi forces destroyed six ISIS hideouts in Salah al-Din Governorate in the center of the country.
