Opinion | Right Now Government Israel today

2022-06-22T20:11:58.536Z

The formation of a right-wing government at this time can be a turning point, with consequences for generations.

"Even the obvious should be said sometimes," the late Prime Minister Menachem Begin once explained, and he was right.

I will follow in his footsteps and make a call that is completely self-evident, even though they are trying to obscure and forget it: the right-wing factions in the current Knesset must form a right-wing government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, and save us all another election and spin.

In recent years, Israeli politics has seen complete systemic robbery.

Instead of talking about essence, parties and politicians moved into a hollow and shallow discourse, all built around personal questions.

In most cases it was one personal question: yes Bibi or no Bibi.

Because most politicians spend their time in a bubble, they have repeated this question so many times, that they have managed to convince themselves that it is the appearance of everything.

Increased to make new hope chairman Gideon Saar, who has shamelessly declared in recent days that his and his party's overarching goal is to prevent Netanyahu from returning to power.

I was looking for this "sacred" goal in the song Betar, the unofficial anthem of the right-wing camp in Israel, which Saar and his faction members know by heart and like to hum, and see what a miracle - they did not find it.

I thought to myself that the goal of a right-wing party and a public messenger who labels himself a right-winger is to realize the right-wing ideology, and first of all, to carry out the following actions: apply Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and fortify the Jordan River as our eastern border. The revolt of the extremists in the Arab population, to remove the infiltrators who threaten the Jewish character of the state, to cleanse Israel of the remnants of a socialist economy that prevents competition, prosperity and progress, to thwart the Iranian threat and to promote real reform of the judiciary and separation of powers. - Will rule in the dome in all areas of public life.

All of these can be easily achieved, because in the current Knesset there is a clear majority of right-wing parties, which declare that they support the essential goals of the right.

So far, some of the right-wing parties have preferred to place personal discretion over the opportunity to implement the policy dear to the hearts of right-wing voters.

The personal hatred towards Netanyahu outweighed the essence in their eyes.

Who benefited from this?

Only the left, which has seen how the growing majority of the right in public finds expression in the Knesset, and breathes a sigh of relief that the right has kicked the bucket.

Not that there are no ego wars on the left, but to its credit: left-wing politicians have never knowingly given up on the chance to pursue their policies solely out of personal hatred or envy.

The formation of a right-wing government at this time can be a turning point, with consequences for generations, and whoever undermines the chances of finally realizing everything the right has dreamed of will be remembered forever.

This is similar to the national footballer of the team, who found himself near the opponent's exposed hair, and suddenly refused to roll the ball into the goal, further adding guilt to a crime when he explained that the goal of the game is not to defeat the opponent, but to frustrate the coach's appointment.

In the world of sports such a person playing into the hands of the opponent was removed from the activity forever.

In Israel's forgiving political world, it has another chance to mend: to form a right-wing government now.
