48 hours after Bennett and Lapid's announcement of early elections:
The proposal to dissolve the Knesset will go up in the plenum today in a preliminary reading.
This will be the first of four votes, a preliminary vote and then three readings.
The preliminary vote requires a simple majority and is expected to pass.
MK Eli Avidar turned to the designated prime minister of the transition, Yair Lapid, and asked that he postpone the date of the dissolution of the Knesset for a week so that the defendant's law could be passed.
"We all welcome your entry into the Prime Minister's Office. This is certainly good news for the people of Israel, but I would ask you to delay the dissolution of the Knesset so that we can pass the defendant's law. One and the law passes.
Despite the defendant's laws, the party has a future and still wants to promote the dissolution of the Knesset as soon as possible so that the defendant's law will probably not pass.
Meanwhile, Knesset Speaker Miki Levy said he wanted to pass the law "in an orderly manner."
On his Twitter account, Levy wrote, "Let there be no misunderstandings - I, and all my friends at Yesh Atid, support the defendant's law and we will do everything we can to pass it. As Speaker of the Knesset, it is my duty to do so in an orderly manner."
If there is still time to promote the defendant's law, this is MK Nir Orbach's last chance to get something from the Likud, because then they will need it to prevent the promotion of the law. The Likud also needs to delay the dissolution of the Knesset More in this Knesset.
