Out of the ministry office and into practice: Bavarian state farms in Grub have a new managing director

The Bavarian State Estates in Grub (municipality of Poing) have a new manager: Anton Dippold.
He returned to practice at the age of 61.
Grub - If you drive from the traffic light in Grub (municipality of Poing) along Prof.-Zorn-Straße in a northerly direction, you come across two administration buildings after pastures and stables: a large one on the right-hand side and a smaller house on the left-hand side.
Whoever says "Grub" usually means the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture (LfL) as a whole (whose headquarters are in Freising), with its Gruber Institutes for Animal Breeding, Agricultural Engineering and Animal Husbandry, Animal Nutrition and Forage Management and an experimental station.

But that is only one half of Grub north of Senator-Gerauer-Strasse: The other is the Bavarian State Estates (BaySG), a commercial net state enterprise of the Free State of Bavaria with its headquarters in Grub (in the smaller house on the east side of Prof.-Zorn- Street).

With nine focus centers at around 25 locations in Bavaria, they are "service providers in experimental research for applied research, usually through the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture and fulfill many educational measures for the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry," says the self-description the BaySG.
In addition, they have a role model and role model function for the entire Bavarian agriculture.

As of this year, BaySG has a new managing director in Anton Dippold.
He explains the mixed situation using a current example: The Technology and Support Center in Straubing would like to investigate whether and what effects a larger photovoltaic system would have on an area that is also used for agriculture and livestock under the elevated modules.
The BaySG carry out the test in practice and in this case provide fields on Kirchheimer Straße in Grub.
The project is currently in the planning phase.
The municipal council of Poing has already given its approval for this project, which is set to last several years.
Other tests, such as the Gruber Taxet, are also carried out on sites and under the direction of the BaySG.
From the Ministry to the outside
Born in Bamberg in 1960, Anton Dippold grew up on a mixed farm in Upper Franconia.
After studying and completing his legal traineeship, he worked from 1989 to 2002 at various positions in the agricultural administration as a consultant, specialist teacher and employee in the Ministry of Agriculture.
From 2004 he headed the department "Basic questions of Bavarian agricultural policy, agricultural statistics, international cooperation and economic monitoring" in the Ministry of Agriculture.

At the age of 61, Dippold changed his job again.
Why?
"I wanted to get back into practice," he says.
There he is now, in the middle of Grub.
