Party bickering in front of assembled farmers

 Is it courage or is it the desire to go under to come to the district farmer's day as a Green faction leader in the state parliament?

In any case, Ludwig Hartmann dared to enter the lion's den - and it was in Oberding.

Erding - "We need to talk to each other more" was one of Hartmann's many messages.

It remains to be seen whether she has arrived.

BBV district chairman Jakob Maier had created a suspenseful arc: Greetings from Ulrike Scharf and Martin Bayerstorfer, from the new district president Ralf Huber and Mayor Bernhard Mücke before the main speaker.

Of course, Scharf and Bayerstorfer couldn't stop at greetings, but went on the offensive, clearly trying to dominate the main speaker.

Suddenly, the topic "How much greenery can agriculture tolerate?" was no longer so important, and none of the speakers went into it explicitly.

Sharp recalled the isolation of the Federal Minister of Agriculture in Brussels with his refusal to release set-aside land for the production of food and animal feed, although three million people could have been fed with it, spoke of an "ideological attitude".

Bayerstorfer added: "morally unacceptable." He even went so far as to say that there is a federal ministry of agriculture "that no longer wants agriculture."

Mücke as well as Huber missed the planning security for the farmers.

The fact that pig farming is increasing in Spain, while in Bavaria the farms are giving up, but then there is cheap pork from Spain in the supermarkets, "what's going on there just doesn't work," says Huber.

And it was in such a deliberately heated mood that Green Hartmann was supposed to speak.

He tried a counterattack, saw the reason for the current agricultural structure in the mistakes of the past, an ideology "grow or give way", which was promoted by the CSU.

"We need new ways, we need more direct marketing, smaller structures."

But he also admitted: “The referendum Save the Bees” was the last straw for the farmers.

Everyone talked about the promotion of regional products, but that didn't appear in the tenders from the authorities: "Every minister advertises a Bavarian company car, with catering it's said that regionality doesn't work."

When he tried to defend the set-asides, he received whistles from the back of the marquee, and the noise level continued to rise noticeably.

Only when it came to land use was he able to gain more applause: He was able to prove that the CSU-led state government had fallen far short of its own goals: "For three years in a row, land use has continued to rise, despite all the state government's announcements." The land use for settlement and transport areas is increasing twice as fast as the population.

"Something's wrong."

At least one person didn't want to let the thread of the conversation break off towards the end: Jakob Maier noticed that this hadn't quite worked out.

He once again defended the invitation to the Greens: "You're working in Berlin, that's the way it is." Incidentally, he had already said that at meetings in Berglern and elsewhere.

He suggested holding a circuit meeting in an inn, where the questions would then come from the farmers.

He recognized what the guest had probably also noticed: "It was a difficult event."
