(ANSA) - PERUGIA, June 22 - The acquittal of the lawyer Maria Cesarina Turco was requested by the Perugian prosecutor in the preliminary hearing concerning the alleged "farce" exam for the knowledge of Italian supported by Luis Suarez at the University for Foreigners of Perugia .

In the charge he is indicated as "the lawyer appointed by the Juventusfootball club company".

The prosecutor's office, on the other hand, reiterated in the courtroom the request for indictment for the other defendants.

Among them the former rector Giuliana Grego Bolli, the then general manager Simone Olivieri and professor Stefania Spina.


    The Turkish lawyer - reads the indictment - was accused of having been a "moral competitor and instigator" in relation to the crime of ideological falsehood contested for the Suarez exam held in September 2020 in Perugia.

The football player was one of Juventus' possible transfer goals at the time.


    The request for acquittal was made by the prosecutor Raffaele Cantone and by the substitute Paolo Abritti.

Turco's defender, the lawyer Franco Coppi, is also in court.
