In Russia it is forbidden to speak of a war in Ukraine.

Putin's favorite presenter no longer even speaks of "special operations".

Moscow - It is considered the Davos of Russia - the economic forum in St. Petersburg, which took place over the weekend (June 18-19).

It was moderated by the editor-in-chief of the Russian state television RT, Margarita Simonyan.

The 42-year-old is a central figure in Russian propaganda and is on the EU sanctions list because of the Ukraine war.

She is not only editor-in-chief of the propaganda channel RT (formerly Russia Today), but also of the state media agency Rossiya Sevodnya.

At the business event, she personally interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin on stage.

And she also met personally before and after the forum with the Russian ruler, who launched a war of aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, which is still causing death and destruction on a daily basis.

She herself confirmed the conversation.

Ukraine-News: Putin's chief propagandist offers new interpretation of the war on Russian TV

Remarkably, right after her meetings with Putin, the chief propagandist reportedly floated a new theory on the Ukraine war on a talk show on Russian television on Sunday evening (June 19).

It is well known that the war in Ukraine cannot be called a war in Russia, but rather a “special military operation”.

According to the US news site

The Daily Beast

, Simonyan no longer spoke of a special operation, but of a completely different interpretation of the events in Ukraine.

Ukraine-News: Putin's chief propagandist with wild claim - "Not even a special operation"

"It is obvious to everyone that there is no war between Russia and Ukraine.

This isn't even a special operation against the Ukrainian army.

This is a civil war in Ukraine,” the RT editor-in-chief reportedly claimed.

"Part of Ukrainians who are anti-Russian and anti-Russian - just as fascists were anti-Semitic - are destroying another part of their own people."

"Russia only supports one side of these warring factions," the journalist apparently said.

"And why this page?

This is obvious: Because they are Russians.

These are our people.

And over there they are anti-Russians.

That's all.” If the Russian state media were able to spread this view of things without restrictions in the West, the support of citizens in Europe and the USA for Ukraine would plummet, the journalist continued.

Ukraine-News: Chief propagandist claims Putin deliberately failed to successfully attack Kyiv

Putin's propaganda wife also gave a crude explanation for the fact that Russia wasn't more successful in its attacks on major Ukrainian cities like Kyiv.

Background: At the beginning of the Ukraine war, the Russian army initially tried unsuccessfully to capture Kyiv and other cities in the west and center of the country, but then, in a change of strategy, focused on the east of the country, where fierce fighting with daily rocket attacks has been raging for weeks .

Simonian now claimed that Putin deliberately failed to attack Ukrainian cities more successfully.

"These are our future cities," she is said to have exclaimed.

"This is our country and our people, we will have to restore it later," said the editor-in-chief, apparently denying Ukraine any right to exist.

Ukraine-News: Putin's health is an issue again

The 42-year-old is said to have left out a long monologue on the TV show about Putin's state of health, about which there is much speculation - recently even a former Russian secret agent claimed that Putin only had a few months to live.

The chief propagandist apparently lavishly praised Putin's excellent health, his "unflagging perseverance" and his "unwavering faith."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also commented on the Ukraine conflict in a Tuesday (June 21) broadcast on Russian television.

Among other things, he declared that Russia would “never again” be able to trust the West.

Drastic demands are also being made on Russian state television about how to deal with neighboring Lithuania.
