The best jazz artists await you at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Fontainebleau

Up to 20,000 people in four days will applaud the big names in jazz and especially gypsy jazz, inherited from Django Reinhardt


For one more year and since 1968, the soul of Django Reinhardt has been blowing as summer approaches in Fontainebleau and Samois-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne), where the musician has been buried since 1953.

The festival that pays homage to her is being held from this Thursday in the park of the Château de Fontainebleau, welcoming this year the fine flower of female jazz.

Francophile Melody Gardot presents “Between them two”, a samba and bossa album composed with pianist Philippe Powell.

Organist Rhoda Scott has surrounded herself with the most talented French jazz women.

The famous drummer Anne Paceo is back with a new project entitled SHAMANES New Yorker Robin McKelle with her soulful and captivating voice completes this original cast.

Off to Samois and “oxen” at the Samoreau campsite

So that spectators can take full advantage of their ticket, the concerts start at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.

The second stage has been enlarged to better suit the standing of the artists.

The luthiers' village has been remodeled in such a way as to admire the beautiful guitars while settling down to listen to those who try them.

And for even more of a change of scenery, head off to the place de Samois-sur-Seine, from Friday to Sunday.

And even better, at the Samoreau campsite, where day and night, professionals and amateurs from all over the world resurrect the soul of Django, at the foot of the caravan steps.
