A Latino family, its dynamics and a wedding conquer HBO Max.
The Hispanic version of the film "Father of the Bride", which premiered last week on HBO Max, became the most played movie on that platform.
The 2022 version stars Cuban stars Gloria Estefan and Andy García, along with Adria Arjona and Diego Boneta.
The information was first reported by Deadline.
An HBO Max representative confirmed to CNN en Español that the premiere was leading in the playback lists, however, she did not offer additional details of hours viewed or the official
ranking
worldwide or in Latin America.
HBO Max is part of Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of CNN.

Gloria Estefan shared on Twitter on June 18 that the film ranked first among the most viewed productions on HBO Max in Latin America.
According to the publication, "Father of the Bride" is the most played tape in Mexico, the second in Argentina, the third in Brazil and Chile, and the fourth in Colombia.
What is "Father of the Bride" about?
The film is centered on a family, in this case Cuban-American and Mexican, and the surprising news that their daughter not only has a new boyfriend but will marry him.
If the name of the production sounds familiar to you, it is because a film with the same name was released in 1991, starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Kimberly Williams.
Both versions are based on the novel "
Father of the Bride
" by American author Edward Streeter.
The film was directed by Gaz Alazraki, known for productions such as "Nosotros Los Nobles" and "Club de Cuervos".
Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Paul Michael Pérez are the producers of the film, while Brad Pitt, Andy García and Ted Gildlow are the executive producers.
Matt López was in charge of the script.
Alazraki said he wanted to reflect his bicultural background in the film.
"When I was invited to reimagine
Father of the Bride
, it made me think of myself, a Mexican who recently moved with my family to the United States. About how culturally distant my future son-in-law or daughter-in-law could be. I realized that when you move You come to this country looking for better opportunities, but you don't necessarily consider how much your traditions may fade as your children grow up here, so this reflection became the central idea behind this [new] version [of the film ]," Alazraki said.
