Homs-Sana
The fine movement in Homs today lost the veteran artist Ahmed Rahal at the age of 69 years, of which he spent thirty in continuous production to supplement cultural life.
Born in the village of Abu Dali, east of Homs, in 1953, Rahal devoted his life to plastic art, resulting in hundreds of works and dozens of participations in collective and individual exhibitions in various Syrian governorates.
The homeland occupied the thought of Rahal, so he embodied in his murals bearing his name all the meanings of struggle, pride in achievements and optimism for the bright future of the homeland.
In his paintings, Rahal approached reality in all its details, and nature and the simple Homs countryside, with its flowers filling the fields and sprawling rocks, had a wide area in his works.
The deceased Rahal, a member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists for more than thirty years, was known for his devotion to his art. His message called for thinking of new ways and means of innovation and creativity to confront the targeted tide of Arab presence.
His comrades in the fine movement expressed their deep sorrow for the loss of Rahal, who presented the most beautiful works of art life in Homs to be a school of national and heritage values that we are proud of.
