Investigators find a body in a park in Salzgitter.
Shortly thereafter, it is clear that the girl was the victim of an act of violence.
Two teenagers are suspected.
Salzgitter – Two young people are said to be responsible for the death of a 15-year-old in Salzgitter.
A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old are considered urgent suspects, as the Braunschweig public prosecutor announced on Wednesday.
According to the first investigations, the student became the victim of a violent crime.
"We assume a homicide," said spokesman Wolters.
An arrest warrant for murder had been requested for the 14-year-old at the Braunschweig district court.
A detention of the 13-year-old is not possible because of the criminal immaturity, about the suspicion against him the youth welfare office was informed.
The two suspects are Germans from Salzgitter.
"The motive for the act has not yet been finally clarified, but according to current knowledge it is personal," said the public prosecutor.
Officials discovered the body of the 15-year-old on Tuesday during an intensive search in a green area in the Fredenberg district.
Relatives had reported the girl missing on Sunday evening, as a police spokesman from Salzgitter said.
According to the current status, the public prosecutor assumes that the crime was committed on Sunday, as spokesman Wolters said.
The investigators hoped for more information about the cause of death from the autopsy, the results of which were expected on Thursday.
The search for clues was also continued on Wednesday at the cordoned-off location of the corpse.
It is about reconstructing the course of events quickly and as precisely as possible, said the police spokesman.
According to him, hearings of witnesses were also continued.
According to the public prosecutor, the investigations so far have shown that the three young people knew each other and went to the same school in Salzgitter-Fredenberg.
It is becoming apparent that it could have been a murder from base motives, said spokesman Wolters.
There is currently no evidence of a sex crime.
