After the initial investigation, the 15-year-old student became the victim of a violent crime.

"We assume a homicide," said spokesman Wolters.

"The motive for the act has not yet been finally clarified, but according to current knowledge it is personal," said the public prosecutor.

A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old are still considered urgent suspects.

According to the public prosecutor, the investigations so far have shown that the three young people knew each other and went to the same school in Salzgitter-Fredenberg.

It is becoming apparent that it could have been a murder from base motives, said spokesman Wolters.

There is currently no evidence of a sex crime.

After finding a dead 15-year-old in Salzgitter in Lower Saxony, the investigators assume a crime among young people.

A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old are considered urgent suspects, as the public prosecutor in Salzgitter announced on Wednesday.

Based on the overall circumstances, a homicide can be assumed.

An arrest warrant for murder had been requested against the 14-year-old.

According to the authorities, the 13-year-old, who has not yet reached the age of criminal responsibility, cannot be imprisoned, so the youth welfare office was involved in his case.

The motive for the act has not yet been finally clarified, but is "in the personal sphere".

The public prosecutor's office initially did not provide any further information on the case.

The 15-year-old was reported missing on Sunday.

On Tuesday, emergency services discovered a body in a tree-lined green area near residential buildings while looking for the student.

It was initially unclear whether the dead person was the person being sought, and the cause of death was also not certain.

It is still not clear whether the body of a woman found in Salzgitter is the missing 15-year-old girl.

Salzgitter - While searching for a 15-year-old girl in the town of Salzgitter in Lower Saxony on Tuesday (June 21), the police found the body of a young woman in a park.

The teenager has been missing since Sunday evening.

It was initially unclear whether the find was the 15-year-old.

According to a police spokesman, the cause of death was not yet clear.

"We are investigating in all directions," he said on Tuesday.

The spokesman did not rule out a violent crime.

Now the identity of the found woman must be determined.

Around 50 officers had previously searched for traces until the afternoon and also used a drone.

In the morning, the police published a description of the girl and intensified the search in Salzgitter in the Fredenberg district.

Several streets were blocked.

In Lower Saxony, two missing persons are shaking the country, after a five-year-old boy has also been wanted in Oldenburg since Friday.

According to the description, the missing person is a red-haired schoolgirl who was last seen in jeans and sneakers.

In such cases, relatives are offered pastoral care.
