Five people, two women and three children, died and 35 others were hospitalized, victims of intoxication, in the fire of an apartment building Thursday at dawn in a residential district of Buenos Aires, indicated the rescue.

The fire, of origin at this undetermined stage, started shortly before 6:00 a.m. local (9:00 GMT) in an apartment on the 7th floor of a 14-story building in the central district of Recoleta, spreading rapidly to the upper floor.
Thirty-five people were evacuated to different hospitals in Buenos Aires, with varying degrees of severity.
Among them, two women and three children, were recovered by the firefighters "
unconscious but alive, but died during their transfer
", following massive inhalation of smoke, and for one of the victims of burns, indicated to the press on site Alberto Crescenti, director of the SAME emergency service.
Among the injured, a 52-year-old man was in serious condition on life support, according to the same source.
