The town center in Grünwald will remain as it is for the time being.

Now the planning office, which the municipality had selected for this purpose, has jumped off.

The announcement caused surprised faces in the municipal council.

Grünwald

- At the citizens' meeting in 2019, Werner Krumbholz suggested a beautification of the center of Grünwald.

Many found his proposals to move the maypole and bring the farmers' market from its traditional location to be too drastic or radical, but some councilors, especially the smaller fractions of the council, were sympathetic to upgrading Rathausstraße, including the market square and town hall square.

Finally, there is a municipal council resolution from 2019, which aims to develop proposals for a town center design.

Delays due to Corona

The administration was commissioned to obtain offers for planning proposals from relevant planning offices.

Public participation should be an important part.

After receiving the bids, the municipal council should decide on the award of the planning work.

The administration went on a search and found what they were looking for in a garden and landscape architecture office from Rosenheim.

The planning was delayed because of Corona, and a successful conclusion is now a long way off.

An inquiry brings everything to light

Susanne Kruse (Greens) brought the new development to light with a request.

She has made it her task to follow up regularly and persistently inquire about the status of the planning.

Even before the municipal council meeting, she was, as she said herself, in good spirits that the design of the town center would be on the agenda for the May meeting.

She wanted to know why nothing has been going on for two and a half years.

Mayor Jan Neusiedl (CSU): "This is simply because the planning office has informed us that it is no longer available." The administration therefore decided to look for a new office.

The mayor now hopes that the future planners will be able to build on the considerations already made.

No background information

This news made Susanne Kruse feel alienated.

She would have liked to know the reasons why this planning office has now thrown in the towel.

After all, it has been entrusted with this for years now.

She also wished that the current state of affairs would be clarified again.

What suggestions have been made.

But she bit on granite with her demand.

The mayor did not provide any detailed information on the background to the office's withdrawal.
