Bayaz: The alarm level threatens to multiply gas prices

According to the Finance Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Danyal Bayaz, the federal government's alarm level for the emergency plan for gas could lead to a multiplication of gas prices.

"This affects the substance of citizens and companies and massively increases the risks to public budgets," wrote the Green politician on Twitter on Thursday.

Stuttgart - "The state will still not be able to absorb all the consequences."

In view of the significantly reduced gas supplies from Russia, the federal government has declared the alarm level.

"Currently, the security of supply is guaranteed, but the situation is tense," said the Federal Ministry of Economics.

The emergency plan has three levels: The alarm level now declared is the second.

The third would be the emergency level.
