An aircraft bomb from the Second World War was found in an industrial area near Günzburg.
It cannot be defused - a detonation is imminent.
Günzburg – Air bombs from the Second World War are still being found in Bavaria today.
These remnants of the devastating war are now also referred to as duds - when they were dropped over the Free State around 80 years ago, they did not explode.
There can be various reasons for this.
But regardless of that, they also pose a danger in the present, since one cannot rule out that they will eventually fulfill their original purpose and cause serious damage.
Such a bomb has now been found in Günzburg - it must be blown up in a controlled manner.
This creates severe limitations.
The dramatic consequences of an uncontrolled detonation of a World War II bomb could only be seen in Munich at the end of last year.

In order not to endanger anyone during the blast, a restricted zone is set up.
It surrounds the site of the blast in a radius of half a kilometer.
This not only includes large parts of the commercial area, but also a section of the A8 and the "Legoland" leisure park, its holiday village and the federal highway 16.
