China today successfully launched three new remote sensing satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The satellite, which is the second batch of the Ogan-35 series, was launched by a Long March 2D carrier rocket and entered the planned orbit successfully, Xinhua said.
The satellites will be used mainly for scientific experiments, land resource surveys, agricultural yield assessment, and disaster prevention and reduction.
This launch marked the 424th mission of the Long March series of missiles.
