The corona numbers continue to skyrocket.

The RKI reports a significant increase in the seven-day incidence.

Berlin - Nobody wants to hear it, but it's true: The Corona summer wave in Germany continues to take shape.

On Thursday, the Robert Koch Institute reported 119,360 new infections, a significant increase on the previous week (89,142).

The seven-day incidence has also jumped to 532.9 nationwide (previous day: 488.7).

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation.

Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done.

Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.

In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.

In Munich, for example, it is assumed that tens of thousands of people have been infected without knowing it.

As the RKI daily dashboard shows, 98 other people died within 24 hours in connection with the virus.

Here, too, comparisons of the data are only possible to a limited extent due to the test behavior, late registrations or transmission problems.

In general, the number of registered new infections and deaths varies significantly from weekday to weekday, since more and more federal states do not transmit to the RKI, especially at weekends, and report their cases later in the week.

Corona: Lauterbach wants a seven-point plan

Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach is planning a seven-point plan as a "Corona autumn strategy".

The ministry therefore assumes that there will be more corona infections and absenteeism in autumn and winter and that the intensive care units will be “moderately” burdened.

Lauterbach also wants to reduce the number of free citizen tests and only make them available to people with symptoms.

There is also a corona alarm again in holiday countries.

In some countries, the 3G regulation is already in effect again upon entry.
