Jörg Basten was re-elected as Chairman of the Erdinger Dean's Council with a large majority.

At the gathering, he offered a review of four special years.

Eichenried

– An overwhelming majority of 29 votes confirmed Jörg Basten as chairman of the Erdinger Dean's Council at the constitutive meeting in Eichenried.

30 Catholics came to the parish home in Eichenried and re-elected Basten as their chairman.

The chairman had previously reported on the past term of office.

Despite the pandemic, we have been able to keep in touch with each other and shape things in the dean's office for the past four years.

However, there were no large gatherings, an Orthodox service or an event in the run-up to the federal elections together with the deanery of Isen would have been the exception: "This showed that the Catholic Church is one of the few institutions where all parties come and present their program may," emphasized Basten.

Otherwise there were many online meetings.

The old and new chairman praised District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer, who came by with an IT specialist at the beginning of the pandemic to explain the technology.

Now the Erding Dean's Office is looking at the next round, Basten continues: "We're trying to become even more attractive." The colleagues from Dorfen would, for example, offer an annual day for the candidates for confirmation: "That could also be a good idea for us .”

The managing director Petra Sigrist from the office of the diocesan council was there.

She briefly explained what the Dean's Office in Erding is all about.

It includes eight parish associations and the district church of Altenerding with a total of 33 parishes.

In 32 of them, new parish councils were recently elected: "Only Buch am Buchrain hasn't made it yet."

Sigrist praised the new website of the Erding Dean's Office (www.erzbistum-muenchen.de/pfarrei/dekanat-erding): "You're at the forefront with this, other dean's offices are far from that far."

Before the new elections were held, District Dean Michael Bayer addressed a few words to those present.

In the Corona period one could have had good experiences: "We still managed to keep the services and church life going," he said proudly.

The effort was of course immensely higher than in normal times: "I would like to thank the many voluntary helpers, for example for the security services." Without them, church services would not have been possible, for example when registration lists for church visits had to be kept.

The members of the Dean's Council were then re-elected.

For the next four years, in addition to the chairman Jörg Basten, these are: Thomas Speyerer, Tobias Zinth (both deputies), Ute Riester (secretary), Axel Auer, Rasool Mohammadi, Leonhard Dworzak, Birgit Jöbstl (all assessors), Markus Neumaier, Klaus Pfaffenberger (both delegates from the District Catholic Association) and Armin Schalk (delegated diocesan council).
