Things are not going well for the AfD at the moment.
After the party elected a new leader at an AfD federal party conference last weekend and the delegates were mired in internal disputes, there is now a setback before the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe.
For the time being, the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag must continue to do without chairing three committees.
A corresponding urgent motion against the decision of the other parties was rejected on Thursday, June 23.
But: The final decision on the main issue is still pending.
The judges in Karlsruhe said it was "not completely impossible from the outset" that the rights of the AfD parliamentary group were violated.
The interior and health committees as well as the committee for development cooperation had fallen to the AfD in the current electoral term - it is actually common for the parliamentary group of the respective committee to also provide the chairman.
A vote is only taken if there is an objection.
The other MPs failed the AfD candidates in all three committees on December 15.
A second attempt on January 12 ended with the same result.
The AfD had sued against the decision of the deputies.
In Lower Saxony, the AfD has meanwhile been classified as a suspected case.
General Practitioners' Association dampens expectations of the effect of drugs against Corona
Corona drugs: The number of cases in Germany had recently risen significantly again and the first European countries have reintroduced corona protection measures.
While the fourth vaccination against the corona virus is pending for many and BA.5 and BA.2 are on the rise, the head of the German Association of General Practitioners, Ulrich Weigeldt, is now dampening expectations of the effect of drugs against corona.
"Of course it is very gratifying that progress is being made in the development of effective drugs against severe Covid courses," he told the

.
One thing is certain: Omikron continues to dominate in Germany.
In Weigeldt's opinion, however, politicians should not give the impression that doctors would only have to prescribe more anti-corona drugs and everything would be fine.
"This idea may be seductive, but it does not correspond to the facts." Meanwhile, Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has announced a seven-point plan with a view to the Corona autumn.
These include another major vaccination campaign, faster use of medication for sick people and more precise responsibilities for corona protection in nursing homes.
There is also the drug Paxlovid, which can be used in severe cases.
Nevertheless, Weigeldt makes it clear: "The most effective of all measures is and remains vaccination."
