Because Europa-Park lacks staff, the number of visitors will be restricted with immediate effect.

If you want to visit the amusement park, you have to buy a ticket online beforehand - or hope for free capacity if you visit spontaneously.

Rust - Summer is here, it's the holiday season and people are in a good mood - the rush at Europa-Park is correspondingly large at the moment.

Now, however, the operators are putting a stop to the rush.

There is a lack of staff everywhere in the park, especially in the catering and hotel industries.

As spokesman Dieter Borer explained to

Blick

, from now on only a little over 30,000 visitors per day are allowed.

"We are struggling with a lack of staff and are therefore working with capacity restrictions instead of screwing up the opening times," says Borer.

In addition to restricting the number of visitors, the operators of Europa-Park also point out that individual catering establishments in the park are not open at times because they are staffed with few staff.

"We are confident that we will gradually improve the gastronomic situation," says BW24 on the park's website.

Europa-Park Rust: Limiting the number of visitors should prevent long waiting times

With the limit on the number of guests, Europa-Park also wants to prevent long waiting times at the attractions.

Again and again these had recently been criticized by visitors.

Europa-Park recently declared the points criticized to be "rare isolated cases" - but obviously takes the criticism to heart.

"We cannot rule out waiting times at the attractions, but we are doing everything we can to avoid them," confirms park spokesman Dieter Borer.

The situation at Europa-Park is no coincidence: the industry is urgently looking for staff

It is no coincidence that Europa-Park is struggling with staff shortages.

The entire gastronomy, hotel and tourism industry is currently desperately looking for staff.

Amusement parks are also dependent on seasonal workers - just like restaurants and hotels in tourist regions.

The corona pandemic has significantly increased the staff shortage overall.

Since 2020, Europa-Park has repeatedly had to send its employees on short-time work.

Park boss Roland Mack was also dismayed and frustrated by the closure of the park during the corona lockdowns.

Visiting Europa-Park is currently only possible after booking tickets in advance in the park's online shop.

If there is free capacity, tickets are still available on site for a surcharge of six euros at the box office.
