The listed "Zachschuster": Now a desolate sight, but soon a jewel in the village.

The low-rise building on the left will be demolished, and a connecting wing will be followed by the new hotel building.

In Gaißach - much to the chagrin of the community - several restaurants have closed in recent years.

But now the end of the dry spell is in sight.

Gaissach

– The "Zachschuster" on Lenggrieser Straße in Untergries, which has been closed for some time, has new owners.

And they have big plans.

The spouses Sabine and Christian Kottmair (38 and 41), who live in Lenggries, acquired the property from the “Grüner Brauerei” in Tölz at the beginning of the year.

They want to renovate the listed old building and build a new guest house next to it.

They have already coordinated their concept with the monument protection authority.

In the most recent meeting, the municipal council also unanimously agreed to their project and also initiated a coordinated change to the development plan for this special area.

This is now to be done in an "accelerated process" so that construction work can begin as early as autumn.

Mayor Stefan Fadinger was delighted: "We are glad

Sabine Kottmair comes from the industry and has worked in five-star hotels in Munich and Tegernsee.

Together with her husband, who is an experienced craftsman, she would like to fulfill her dream of owning a hotel in Gaißach.

"Our goal is a down-to-earth business, a country inn with Bavarian cuisine," she assures.

Their target group are active vacationers and families - and of course local restaurant guests.

Not only the district road leads past the hotel, but also the cycle path to the Isarwinkel.

To the south of the existing building, a larger new building with two full floors and an attic for 24 double rooms and a holiday apartment is to be built with the same ridge direction.

Both buildings grow together to form a unit through a connecting wing on the ground floor.

The holiday guesthouse with wellness area should be barrier-free on all floors, which requires the installation of a passenger lift.

In the discussion, this was the only "stumbling block" because the elevator crossing protrudes from the roof skin like a block.

The municipality would like to work towards an optically compatible design.

In any case, according to the municipal council, it must remain well below the ridge height.

During the renovation of the listed core area, which dates back to 1786, a 107 square meter breakfast and seminar room will be created.

The existing beer garden will be retained in its entirety.

The construction of an underground car park with a total of 19 parking spaces is also planned, with which the total of 55 parking spaces required for the property can be verified.
