Three days of positive state of emergency will prevail in Attenkirchen from Friday.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly at the Hallertau Beer Festival, the helpers have now been trained.

Attenkirchen

– Beer enthusiasm in Attenkirchen: From Friday, an entire town will be dedicated to the beer when the Hallertau Beer Festival attracts thousands of visitors.

The helpers of the three-day event are already full of anticipation.

The proof of this was provided by the training for the staff of the three beer sales outlets, who on Tuesday received another introduction to the handling of the electronic cash registers and serving at the flow cooler.

A tapping course, so to speak, in which Bernhard Nieder and Thomas Stein, as experts, provided assistance with the correct glass position and filling level.

Most of the 477 helpers – around a third are women – already had experience from the five previous beer festivals.

But the novices also proved to be extremely docile in handling the tap, which is why Mayor Mathias Kern had no doubts: "We'll manage it."

"If it splashes, don't stop and keep hitting it"

Guest of honor of the course was district administrator and festival patron Helmut Petz.

He, too, received tutoring – namely how to handle bills of exchange and a wooden hammer during a “tapping course” in a fast track from beverage specialist Bernhard Nieder.

Its message was: "If it splashes, don't stop and keep hitting it." No sooner said than done.

With two hard hits on the Augustiner wooden barrel, Petz proved to be a good student and well prepared for the official tapping on Friday at 7 p.m.

The festival is also entertaining if it doesn't splash when you tap it - the supporting program takes care of that.

On three stages, namely in the center, at the Landhotel and in the parish garden, bands and groups alternately provide musical variety, as well as numerous stands on the site for culinary delights.

The bar starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Large children's program and "Bavaria's largest wind orchestra!

An extensive children's program is offered for the little visitors, ranging from a circus and a dog show to an exercise course, a toboggan slide and water games.

Even the grown-ups can stroll along the market stalls, because the B301 through Attenkirchen is closed during the festival.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

What happens on Sunday afternoon is eagerly awaited.

Because "Bavaria's largest wind orchestra" is to be formed there: all musicians are called upon to come to Attenkirchen with instruments of all kinds.

On and in front of the stage in the parish garden, the audience should then play music together from 2 p.m.

Optimistic look at the weather report

Above all, good weather will contribute to the success of the festival, with local boss Mathias Kern confident that he will be spared major weather influences.

Perhaps a quick prayer at the festival service, which takes place on Sunday at 10 a.m. in front of Pastor Stephan Rauscher's front door in the parish garden, will help.
